As of roughly 1:00p.m. EST Thursday August 21, 2008 Nova Logic began a move of their servers and services. Due to this fact any server that was rebooted, or stopped after this time has remained offline until now. As of 9:30a.m. EST our Nova servers have been able to be brought back online. However you may still notice a significant drop in players for a short period of time as it will take time for Novas DNS changes to populate the global DNS servers.

The new Public Support and Billing System is now available at https://billing.kohosting.net/public. Members can access their accounts by going to the link listed above. This is one integrated system which now means when you create an account for ordering purposes you also create all other accounts (except for the forums account). When you place an order now you create your billing account, support account, web manager account(if applicable), and server manager account(if applicable). We hope that you all will find this as useful as we have.

After many hours of work we have finally managed to fully automate all ordering and setup processes with the exception of the setup of dedicated servers. This is simply due to the fact that we build every dedicated server as ordered(our clients like it that way) because we own all of our equipment. Therefore this allows us the flexibility of building every system to the exact requirements chosen by our clients.   KO Hosting began with one person(me  ) and I have personally been hosting online games for over twelve years as of the date of this post. All of my hosting began with Age Of Empires I and Unreal Tournament 99(G.O.T.Y Edition). I began a hosting company roughly seven years ago. This company is truely the "American Dream" having started out on a spare system in my home office. It then grew into a server rack in a closet of my family's home. Then we moved to a much larger home(4 kids, lol) and placed the rack in our basement of our home Once I was no longer able to surf the web, or play online without affecting my clients servers I had no other recourse, but to expand my operations. I have just recently(1 year ago) named my organization KO Hosting. I currently have servers in five major US markets including Phoenix, AZ./ Atlanta, GA./ Newark, NJ./ Chicago, IL., and Louisville, KY.

  All of our services are currently hosted in state of the art data centers on 100% Tier 1 Networks with fiber backbones. All of our facilities have redundant power via automated generators as well as redundant internet connections. Some of our data centers carriers are Level3, Savvis, Sprint, and Internap. A lot of companies try to use inferior cut rate carriers which allow them a slightly lower cost, but all that manages to do is create an unstable environment for gaming. Our servers never reach more than 50% capacity on bandwidth and 65% capacity on resource usage even while under full load of all installed instances. Once a server reaches these thresh holds we simply bring another one online. This is what allows us to maintain an optimal environment for any hosting event.

 WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. communications regulators later this week are expected to uphold a complaint accusing Comcast Corp of unreasonably restricting Internet users who share movies and other material, a source familiar with the case said on Monday.

The Federal Communications Commission will take formal action by Friday against Comcast for violating the FCC's open-Internet principles by improperly blocking peer-to-peer traffic on its network, the source said.

The commission is expected to take up the issue at its next public meeting on Friday. However, the source said a majority of the agency's five commissioners already have voted in favor of a proposal by FCC Chairman Kevin Martin to uphold the complaint.

"I continue to believe that it is imperative that all consumers have unfettered access to the Internet," Martin said in a statement on Monday. "I am pleased that a majority has agreed that the commission both has the authority to and in fact will stop broadband service providers when they block or interfere with subscribers' access."

Comcast responded to reports of an FCC decision by reiterating the company's view that its network management practices are reasonable and did not block access to Web sites or applications.

"We do not believe the record supports any other conclusion," Comcast said in a statement.

The complaint against Comcast has become a flash point for a growing debate between open-Internet advocates who are pushing a concept known as "network neutrality" against some Internet service providers (ISPs), who say they need to take reasonable steps to manage ever-growing traffic on their networks for the good of all users.

NO FINE

The ruling against Comcast, proposed by Martin earlier this month, would not include any fines against the company. But it would require Comcast to halt its current practice of hindering peer-to-peer applications, to disclose to the FCC how the practice has been used, and to notify customers about other network management practices it adopts in the future.

The ruling has been closely watched because it will lay out key guidelines for operators of broadband networks as to what the FCC considers to be "reasonable" way for them to manage their networks.

Martin has said Comcast was in violation of FCC principles because the techniques it used to slow down peer-to-peer applications were "overly broad," targeted only certain applications, and were not disclosed to its customers.

In order to be considered reasonable under Martin's proposal, network management techniques must have a legitimate traffic-management goal, they must be narrowly drawn, and operators must fully disclose what they are doing to customers.

The complaint was filed by consumer groups who said Comcast had unreasonably hindered some file-sharing services, such as BitTorrent, that distribute TV shows and movies.

Comcast and other cable industry officials have argued that operators need to be allowed to manage their networks as they see fit to alleviate congestion and combat illegal file-sharing. Comcast also has argued that the FCC does not have the authority to enforce its open-Internet policy.

Comcast announced in March that it will change the way it manages its network later this year and cooperate with BitTorrent and other critics to resolve the dispute.

Comcast also said it would partner with a second file-sharing company and help create a "bill of rights" for consumers and Internet service providers.

This will be where to find any information regarding the release(if there is one) of this game. Hopefully we will have some information soon. Beta testing could resume at any time now that the patents have cleared.
